يتناول الكتاب التركيز في مجموعة من البحوث العلمية المدققة في تطبيق اختبار جودإنف لقياس ذكاء الأطفال من رسوماتهم في البيئات العربية، اختبار رسم الرجل للأطفال لجودإنف هو من أسهل الاختبارات غير اللفظية، وهو اختبار بسيط سهل الإجراء سهل التصحيح، فردي جماعي، يعتمد على التعلم بعض الشيء ولكنه لا يعتمد عليه تمام الاعتماد، وهو صادق ثابت.قام الدكتور مالك بدري باستعمال اختبار جودإنف على وجهين، وجه لتقدير الذكاء ووجه إكلينيكي اسقاطي. أثبت الدكتور أن الفرق بين وسط الطفل الذي يألف الورقة والقلم والطفل الذي يرسم فقط في الرمال إن كان موجودا ليست له دلالة إحصائية، ولخص اختلاف الملابس من بيئة لبيئة واختلاف ظهور أجزاء الجسم وأوضح إمكان اختلاف التقدير وبذلك كشف عن ناحية هامة كان يجوز أن يظلم فيها الطفل في البيئات المتخلفة عن تقديرنا لذكائه.
