هذا الكتاب هو محاولة لتجميع المفردات عن اللهجة المحلية الحجازية والتي كانت تتداول في وقتنا ومن سبقنا من الأباء والأجداد بمدينتي جدة ومكة وتعريف مفرداتها بأسلوب سهل مع شرح معنى الكلمة بأمثلة تقرب المعنى للقارئ ولقناعتي بأن معظم تلك المفردات التي كانت مألوفة على السمع ومعلومة المعنى في الذهن فإنها اليوم بمثابة ألغاز غير مفهومة لأبناء هذا الجيل لذا أردت أن يكون هذا الطرح لإلقاء الضوء على اللهجة المحلية عله يكون مرجعا يستفيد منه الأبناء والأحفاد لاسترجاع وفهم ما كان متداولا لدى الجيل الماض.
