إن سورة الأعراف من بين سور القرآن الكريم كله تتوفر على تاريخ الإنسانية : في نشأة الإنسان وأهليته للسمو فوق الطبائع الأخرى في الكون، وفي وضعه موضع التجربة لمدى استقلاله في التوجيه وصلابة إرادته نحو السمو، وفي خلافته على الأرض، ومهمته عليها، من نصرة الحق ضد الباطل، وفي رسالة الله له، لتوضيح طريق الأمان من الزلل والوقاية من السقوط والتردي في دائرة الغواية، وفي عرض أحداث المجتمعات البشرية \"كأمثلة للزلل والغواية\" منذ مباشرة الإنسان مهمته، حتى بعثه الرسول محمد بن عبد الله عليه الصلاة والسلام، وأسباب سقوطها وفنائها، التي ترجع إلي صور الاعتداء المختلفة على الضعفاء، وإلي الظلم في منعهم من مباشرة حقوقهم في الحياة.
