يتناول هذا الكتاب واقع التجارة الخارجية الفلسطينية مع مصر خلال الفترة من عام 1995-1998 وهو يهدف إلى تحليل العلاقات التجارية الفلسطينية المصرية وتطوير وتنمية العلاقات الاقتصادية والتجارية حيث يصل من خلال نظرية القياس الاقتصادي إلى استشراف إمكانيات التبادل التجاري المصري-الفلسطيني في ظل الحرية التجارية وتبرز أهمية هذا الموضوع إلى سعي السلطة الوطنية الفلسطينية إلى إعادة ترتيب وتنويع علاقاتها التجارية مع الأسواق المجاورة وكسر احتكار إسرائيل للتجارة الخارجية الفلسطينية وهذا بالاضافة إلى الوصول إلى البدائل الممكنة ووضع تصورات مستقبلية لخيارات السياسة الاقتصادية والتجارية بين مصر وفلسطين.
