يتناول كتاب (قلائد الجمان في التعريف بقبائل عرب الزمان) والذي قام بتأليفه (القلقشندي أبي العباس أحمد بن علي) في حوالي (259) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (تاريخ القبائل العربية) مستعرضا المحتويات التالية : مقدمة المؤلف، المقدمة في ذكر أمور يحتاج إليها في علم الأنساب : الفصل الأول : في فضل علم الأنساب، الفصل الثاني : في بيان ما يقع عليه اسم العرب، وذكر أنواعهم، الفصل الثالث : في معرفة طبقات الأنساب وما يلحق بذلك، الفصل الرابع : في ذكر مساكن العرب القديمة، الفصل الخامس : في بيان أمور يحتاج الناظر في علم الأنساب إليها. المقصد في معرفة تفاصيل أنساب العرب : الفصل الأول : في ذكر عمود النسب النبوي وما يتفرع عنه من الأنساب، الفصل الثاني : من المقصد في ذكر عرب الزمان وتفصيل أنسابهم وأصولهم.
