تجمع فهرسة الورزازي بين عرض المرويات والتعريف بالشيوخ وإيراد إجازاتهم له، يقول : هذه فهرسة أذكر فيها إن شاء الله، المشاهير من أشياخي، ممن قرأت عليهم، وأخذت عنهم، وأجازني ومن لم، تذكرة لي، وتبصرة لغيري. كما يقول عنها في إجازته لتلميذه ابن عجيبة : وأحلته على فهرست التي وضعتها في مشايخي، رحمهم الله تعالى ورضي عنهم، متضمنة لأسانيدهم. وهذا يبين أنه جرى فيها مجرى من سبقه من المسندين المغاربة في كتابة فهارس شيوخهم وأسانيدهم وروايتهم للكتب ودرايتها. وتتجلى قيمة الفهرسة في تقديم معطيات مهمة عن الحياة العلمية والفكرية في المغرب خاصة والغرب الإسلامي عامة خلال القرن 12 الهجري، وكذا إبراز الصلات والعلاقات بين المغرب والمشرق عبر الأسانيد والمصنفات والإجازات والرحلات. فضلا عن تعريف القارئ بالشيخ الورزازي خلال سيرته وتعلمه وشخصيته العلمية عموما.
