ينقسم هذا الكتاب إلي ثلاث فصول جاء الفصل الأول بعنوان الثورة والتجديد في النص الروائي الحديث ويتضمن دراسة نقدية لأعمال غسان كنفاني \"ما تبقى لكم\"، \"أم سعد\"، \"رجال في الشمس\" وغيرها وهي دراسة في الخطاب السردي عند كنعاني وجاء الفصل الثاني بعنوان كلاسيكية الحداثة في الشعر العربي ويعرض لتجربة خليل حاوي في ديوانه \"بيادر الجوع\" بالمقارنة مع أعمال أخرى للشاعر مثل \"نهر الرماد\" سنة 1957 والناي والريح سنة 1961 ويأتي الفصل الثالث والأخير بعنوان النضالية وألفينة في العمل المسرحي ويتعرض للفضاء التمثيلي للنص المسرحي بما يتصل به من كواليس وممرات وكاشفات ضوئية.
