يفسر هذا الكتاب الظواهر الضوئية وأن يحتوي على أسلوب معرفي مبسط يهتم بتبسيط المفهوم الفيزيائي وإثباته بطرق رياضية بسيطة كافية لفهم وتطبيق الظاهرة الضوئية من النحية الفيزيائية التطبيقية ولقد أهتم المؤلفان بإضافة عدد من المسائل المحلولة والمسائل التدريبية غير المحلولة في نهاية كل فصل لترسيخ المفهوم من الناحية التطبيقية وذلك ليتوصل الدارس للغرض من دراسته ومعرفته لمثل هذه الظواهر وأهميتها بالنسبة للتطور العلمي اللاحق له فب العصر الذي يعي فيه.
