سنة 2003 م، استمرت من 19 آذار / مارس إلى 1 آيار / مايو 2003, والتي أدت إلى احتلال العراق عسكريا من قبل الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ومساعدة دول أخرى مثل بريطانيا وأستراليا وبعض الدول المتحالفة مع أمريكا حسب تعريف مجلس الأمن لحالة العراق في قانونها المرقم 1483 في 2003 م، وانتهت الحرب بسيطرة الولايات المتحدة على بغداد. ومن الأسماء الأخرى التي أطلقت على هذا الصراع هي \"حرب العراق\" وحرب الخليج الثالثة و\"عملية تحرير العراق\" وأطلق المناهضون لهذه الحرب تسمية \"حرب بوش\" على هذا الصراع أو حرب احتلال العراق.
