تفتقر المكتبة العربية بصفة عامة والمكتبة المصرية بصفة خاصة للدراسات فى مجال تربية ورعاية الأوز، وربما يعزى ذلك لعدم وجود بيانات كافية حيث أنه من الطيور الثانوية والتى لا يستهلكها المجتمع العربى والمصرى إلا فى المناسبات الدينية أو الاجتماعية. كما أن تربية هذا النوع من الطيور لا ينتشر إلا فى القرى المصرية وباعداد صغيرة (لا يوجد مزارع تجارية لإنتاج الأوز فى مصر أو الدول العربية). لذا فاننا نأمل ان يكون هذا الكتاب النواه الأولى للاهتمام بهذا النوع من الطيور لسد جزء من العجز فى البروتين الحيوانى. وقد تم الاعتماد فى اعداد هذا الكتاب على ترجمة العديد من الكتب والمقالات الأجنبية، بالاضافة إلى الإستعانة بالمعلومات الموجودة ببعض المواقع الإلكترونية ومنها على سبيل المثال ويكيبيديا الموسوعة الحرة. وندعو الله العلى القدير أن يكون علما ينتفع به.
