يتناول الكتاب حيث يهدف الموس من هذا الإصدار حسب ما قدم به كتابه إلى \"تكوين لبنة في تحسيس المواطن المغربي خاصة، والإنسان المسلم عامة بضرورة التقيد بقواعد بسيطة تسهم إلى حد كبير في حفظ الأنفس والممتلكات، وفي منع التبذير والإسراف المهلك\". ويقصد الموس بالترشيد في الكتاب \"لن يتحقق ما لم يصبغ بالصبغة العقدية والتربوية، وذلك أن غياب المرجعية الأخلاقية يجعل الإنسان ماديا، لا يفكر إلا في نفسه، كما يجعله عرضة لكثير من القيم السيئة التي تدفعه إلى المغالاة في الاستهلاك والوقوع في التبذير، وتأجيج حمى الحسد والتنافس المذموم على الدنيا.
