إن الكثير من المجتمعات ما زالت حائرة في فهم الخطاب الذي يطرحه الإرهاب وعلاقته بالإسلام عقيدة وهناك أسئلة لابد من طرحها بهدف تشكيل مفاهيم واضحة للمجتمع حول فهم الدين والممارسات والعبادات التي يجب أن تكون مختلفة تماما بل متناقضة مع الخطاب الذي يطرحه التطرف والتشدد والإرهاب ليس سببا للتطرف إنما هو نتيجة حتمية له وهذه الفكرة يجب أن تكون واضحة، فإذا كان الهدف هو القضاء على الإرهاب فيجب قبل ذلك القضاء على التطرف والتشدد والفهم المزدوج للقضايا التراثية والتاريخية وكل فكرة غير واضحة تجلب الازدواجية والاختلاف حول الدين وتطبيقاته.
