موضوع الأمداح النبوية من أكثر الموضوعات انتشارا في الشعر المغربي، انطلاقا من العصر المرابطي إلى اليوم، ولاسيما إذا علمنا أن مجموعة من العوامل قد ساعدت على هذا الانتشار، وجعلت موضوع المديح النبوي بضاعة نافقة في سوق الإبداع في بلادنا، نذكر منها على الخصوص: تمكن العقيدة الإسلامية من المغاربة، بما يطرحه هذا التمكن من إكبار وتعظيم لهذه العقيدة، ولحامل رسالتها سيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، ولآل بيته الطاهرين، وصحابته الكرام الراشدين. تعدد طرق الصوفية التي تتخذ من الأمداح النبوية دعامتها الأساسية والتي تتوسل بهذه الأمداح في طقوس تختلف باختلاف هذه الطرق وتباينها. التأثر بالشعراء الذين مارسوا هذا اللون من الشعر في المشرق، بدءا بالشعراء الصحابة كحسان بن تابث، وكعب بن زهير وأضرابهما.
