يشمل الكتاب ثلاثة فصول : العقوبات الدولية وأثرها على نظام الحكم في زيمبابوي منذ عام 2002 كنموذج لإحدى الدول الإفريقية التي طبقت عليها دراستها في الكتاب مبينة المفاهيم المتعلقة بالعقوبات الدولية وأسبابها وأنماطها، أهداف العقوبات الدولية، والأطراف المنوطة بتطبيقها، والآثار المترتبة والمحتملة عنها، وبعض التصورات المستقبلية للأوضاع السياسة والاقتصادية في زيمبابوي. كما خلصت إلى رفض الموقف الإقليمي للعقوبات على زيمبابوي سواءً من الدول أو من التجمعات الإقليمية رغم الضغوط الدولية أحيانا.
