يتناول كتاب (حرية الفنان) والذي قام بتأليفه (حسن سليمان) في حوالي (229) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (الفن) مستعرضا المحتويات التالية : المقدمة، تحديد المواقف، الأنفعال بالحياة، تمزيق الغلالات، البحث عن مرفأ، عن حرية الفنان، النتيجة، بعض الأعمال الفنية، في الأخير ليس بوسع كل الفنانين أن يثبوا للأمام مخاطرين وظلمة الأحداث حولهم لكن من جازف ووثب بعد أحداث العرب العالمية الثانية أصبح الآن مشهورا، أو أضاعت أسمه رياح الأحداث السياسية والاجتماعية بالتاكيد سنجد أنه قد فعل الكثير لمن بعده من الفنانين، لذلك لم يكن اختيار هذه الصور مستمدا من شهرة الفنان بقدر ما بدا من انفعالة مع المرحلة التي مر بها ومر بها مجمتعه.
