هذه الصفحات الموجزة عن الدكتور محمد إقبال أول من دعا إلى تكوين دولة باكستان، لأن فلسفته وشعره ونمط حياته وقصة كفاحه جديرة بأن يقرأها شبابنا، وخاصة فى هذه الفترة الدقيقة التى تجتازها بلادنا الحبيبة. ولقد توخى الكاتب السهولة والاستطراد التوضيحي ليكثر عدد قراء إقبال فى العالم العربي، وأن يستطيع ذوو الثقافات أن يلموا بسيرة هذا الرجل العظيم. وقد يجد القارئ شيئا ليس بالقليل من الدسامة في الشعرالموجود، لكن لو أدرك القارئ أن الترجمة من الشعر إلى الشعر أمر ليس ميسورا سهلا، فسيقدر من غير شك هذه الظروف. لقد كان «إقبال» أحد أولئك القلائل الذين بعثوا النور في سماء الشرق من أمثال الأفغاني ومحمد بن عبد الوهاب وغيرهما، فرحم الله «إقبالا»..!
