قدم المغفور له الأديب حمد خليفة بوشهاب، الجزء الأول من عمله المهم (تراثنا من الشعر الشعبي)، ضمنه قصائد لعدد من أشهر الشعراء القدامي في الإمارات مثل : الماجدي بن ظاهر وعلي بن محين الشامسي ويعقوب الحاتمي، وبعد ذلك بسنة، أصدر الجزء الثاني من العمل ذاته، وضم قصائد لعدد أكبر من شعراء الإمارات القدامى والمخضرمين، ولقد مثل هذا العمل أهم مرجع لدراسات الأدب الشعبي التى دونت قصائد شعراء الإمارات القدامي والمخضرمين.
