تم تقديم هذا الكتاب كجزء مكمل لخزين المكتبة العراقية، وهو عرض مفصل عن سيرة أشخاص ظهروا في المجتمع العراقي إبان العقود الماضية في أوساط بيئية خاصة كانوا يشكلون ظاهرة فردية أو مجموعات صغيرة تعمل في أماكن خاصة بها. . . شخصيات بسطت سطوتها وسيطرتها على مناطق مازالت إطلالها ماثلة للعيان تمثل الطيبة العراقية والأصالة والنخوة في مساعدة الضعيف. مناطق بدأت اليوم تنحسر وتتشكل على أنقاضها معامل خردة. . شخصيات تحدت السلطات الحاكمة فكان مصيرها القتل في ظروف غامضة. يحلل عالم الاجتماع قاسم حسين ظاهرة الاشقيائية عبر التساؤل عن مصدر القسوة والقدرة على القتل، إذ يعزوها إلى التفسير الباثولوجي الذي يرى من خلال النظريات الحديثة، أن العدوان البشري ينجم عن شذوذ في التركيب الكروموسومي الوراثي (xyy) لدى الذكور ولان الكروموسوم (y) يفرز هرمون خاص بالعنف والعدوان فإن وجوده في حالة (xy) يكون طبيعيا ولكنه إذا زاد وأصبح (xyy) فإن هذا يؤدي إلى زيادة في هرمون العدوان.
