في كتاب الأستاذ محمد طلبي تجسيد لمعالم مدينة دبي تجسيداً غير مسبوق، فهو يعرفها معرفة جيدة وكاملة، ربما تفوق معرفة ابن من أبنائها الذين عاشوا فيها منذ الصغر، ويقدمها في تسجيل فيه الفطنة وفيه الإدراك وفيه الحقيقة الخالية من الأطناب والصور المفتعلة.. يدخل الكاتب شارع نايف، وسوق نايف ويبدأ بهما تجواله في المناطق ويصفهما وصف مدقق، ويدخل مطاعم هذه الحارة التي يغلب عليها الطابع الهندي، ويدخل ساحة عبدالناصر التي تغير اسمها بشكل غير موفق، ويكتب عن برج الساعة الذي يعود بناؤه إلى أواخر الستينات من القرن الماضي، ويسير عبر نفق الشندغة الذي هو أول نفق تحت البحر يبنى في منطقة الخليج ... إلخ.
