هذا الكتاب الذي يضم بين دفتيه تاريخ الأمم من بدء الخليقة وحتى عصر المؤلف (العصر العثماني) يكتسب أهميته من ارتكازه على محورين : الأول امتداد الفترة الزمنية التي يتضمنها الكتاب، والمحور الثاني ذكره أنساب الملوك والسلالات الحاكمة اعتمادا على البعد الزمني والمكاني لكل حقبة، وأسلوب السرد المباشر دون ترتيب زمني يذكر، وقد بذل المحقق جهدا كبيرا في تحقيقه ودراسته لهذا المخطوط، ويرجع ذلك إلى عدة أسباب أبرزها عدم وجود ترجمة لهذا المؤلف، واكتفى بذكر نبذة عن عصره، عدا عن كثرة الأخطاء في المخطوطة نفسها.
