نظمت جائزة الشيخ راشد للتفوق العلمي، في العام 1988، بما تحمله من تميز لاسم رائد يمثل دره السياسي والاقتصادي وما يتسم به من رجاحة عقل وفراسة ورؤية بعيدة الأمد حجر أساس لدولة فتية. بدأت الجائزة برعاية المغفور له مكتوم بن راشد آل مكتوم رحمه الله، وأكمل مسيرة العطاء والدفع نحو مزيد من التفوق صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي \"رعاه الله\"
