يأتي هذا الكتاب في وقت تعم في العالم الإسلامي التفرقة العمياء الواقعة بين المسلم الشيعي والمسلم السني والتي أورثتها عصور من الجهل والأنانية، وكان يجب أن تزول بزوال أسبابها البعيدة وأن تتبخر مع تبخر الجهل وحلول الوعي مكانه، ولكن ما زال لها بعض الجذور في النفوس المريضة وعليه، يسرد لنا المؤلف في هذا الكتاب أهم حقائق الاختلاف بين السنة والشيعة والتي لم يكن يوما من الأيام اختلافا على الكتاب والسنة، بل كانت اختلافا في فهم الكتاب والسنة.
