في هذا الكتاب نعرض لجهود ومناهج جماعة من فلاسفة الشرق وهم (الكندي والفارابي وابن سينا) مبينين ما لهم وما عليهم دون أن نحاكم أشخاصهم وإنما نحن هنا نحاكم ونقوم فكرا وفلسفة حيث لم يكن لدى العرب قبل الإسلام فكر فلسفي بل كانوا أميين لا يقرؤون ولا يكتبون وكانت عقولهم أسيرة أنماط محدودة من العادات والتقاليد والأعراف فجاء الإسلام فحرر العقل من نطاقه الضيق (نطاق العادات والتقاليد) ودعا الناس إلى استعمال عقولهم وإطلاقها من إسار التقليد الأعمى ومن ثم فقد مهد لنشأة الفلسفة الإسلامية.
