يوثق كتاب «بلدية دبي-وثائق تاريخية» السيرة الحافلة للمؤسسة الحكومية التي حملت على عاتقها منذ ما يزيد ما يقارب الستة عقود، نشأة المدينة وتطورها عبر مراحل زمنية مختلفة حتى أضحت واحدة من أبرز المدن مكانة على المستويين الإقليمي والعالمي، «حاضرة من حواضر القرن الواحد والعشرين، ملأت الدنيا وشغلت الناس»، وفقا لمدير عام بلدية دبي المهندس حسين ناصر لوتاه، الذي أطلق الكتاب أخيرا باللغة العربية «ليروي حكاية مدينة شغوفة بالصدارة وتعشق التحديات، إذ يستعرض فيه تاريخا من المنجزات والمشروعات والقيادات التي جسدت روحها (روح دبي)، فما فتئت لا تؤمن بالمستحيل ولا تهدأ حتى تغدو مدينتها حديث العالم».
