يشير الكاتب إلى أن سيرة سيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم هي النبع الصافي الذي تستمد منه الأجيال زاد مسيرتها وعناصر بقائها، وقد اعتمد الكاتب في تسطير مختصر السيرة النبوية على كتب السيرة وكتب الصحاح في سرد سهل التناول وتمشيا مع الهدف المنشود وهو إيصالها إلى ناشئة المسلمين من التلاميذ والطلاب وتحدث المؤلف في عن العرب قبل الإسلام وولادة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وبعثته والأحداث التي سبقت مولده كحفر زمزم وعام الفيل ونذر عبد المطلب، ثم الأحداث التي تلت مولده من وفاة أمه آمنة ورعاية جده عبد المطلب له ثم وفاة جده وكفالة عمه أبي طالب له، وزواجه من السيدة خديجة.
