كتاب \"هارون الرشيد\" نشره فيلبي عام 1933 م ؛ أي بعد نشر كتاب \"الربع الخالي\" بعام واحد، وحوالي تسع سنوات بعد صدور كتاب \"قلب الجزيرة العربية\" في طبعته اللندنية. وهو يهدي الكتاب لابنته باتريشيا التي ولدت في ضاحية من ضواحي مدينة بغداد التي جرت على مسرحها كل أحداث هذا الكتاب.
