هذا الكتاب ديوان لمجموعة من الأغاني الحضرمية الشيقة، وهي ليست كل ما وضعه حسين أبو بكر المحضار من الأغاني، وإنما هي جزء من قصائده الشعبية التي صاغها لألحان معينة. برزت ألحان حسين بن أبي بكر المحضار منذ العشر سنوات الأخيرة ومن هنا ابتدأت الأغنية الحضرمية تستعيد مكانتها بعد أن فقدتها طويلا وأضحى الحضارمة يرددون أغانهيم الأصلية المتنوعة وهي فاتحة عهد تطورها وازدهارها.
