يتناول الكتاب حيث أن الإغريق قد أعادوا توطين حركة الفكر ضمن مقام محايثة خلصها من سلطة المتعالي لتصير تنقلا أفقيا تنجزه شخصيات \"الأغورا\" فيما بينها، بعد ما كانت تنقلا عموديا ينجزه العارف أو الكاهن ما بين السماء (المتعالي) والأرض (المحايث)، وأنه لم تكن أثينا في الواقع منشأ لكل الفلاسفة، فكل من آسيا وإيطاليا وكذلك إفريقيا تمثل المراحل الأوديسية للمسار الرابط بين الفلسفة و الفلاسفة، لكن كون الفلاسفة كانوا أجانب لا يلغي شيئا من كون الفلسفة كانت إغريقية، ذلك أن أثينا هي وحدها التي منحت لهؤلاء الفلاسفة مقام محايثة صالحا للسكنى فلسفيا.
