يتناول الكتاب حيث تتميز دواوين الشاعر بإعادة الكتابة كسمة بنائية خاصة، تفرد بها بنيس في المشهد الشعري المعاصر، وهو ما يدل على صيرورة النص، وحياته في تغيراتها وتشكيلاتها المستمرة. كما نرى إلى الذاتية عنده ضمن أوضاع نصية لها القصيدة بناء، ولها الكتابة ممكنا شعريا، إذ يختار هذا الممكن أكتر من دال في مختبر مفتوح على المجهول و العبور. من هنا يمكن القول أن الذاتية في شعر بنيس تتشكل أثناء البناء من خلال أقوى عنصر هو مادية الكتابة، ومع هذا العنصر نرى اشتغال الدول مع بعضها وهي تنشئ دلالية النص بلانهائية الكتابة نفسها، حيث تصدمنا أهوال ومنعرجات في البناء باللغة، والصفحة، و البياض، ولعبة العين، والتركيب وغيرها من العناصر البانية للخطاب.
