هذا المنحى في الكتابة ليس بجديد على القاص والمترجم علي القاسمي الذي يرفق إبداعاته بكتابات نقدية على أعمال قصصية وروائية وشعرية، نجد فيها عناصر مهمة من تصوره وتذوقه للأدب والإبداع بشكل عام. ومن كتبه التي تسير في هذا الاتجاه: « من روائع الأدب المغربي « (2002)، « مفاهيم العقل العربي « (2004)، الحب والإبدع والجنون» (2006)، وهي كتابات تحفر في مجموعة من المفاهيم، وتعمِّق الرؤية بقراءات تطبيقية لمجموعة من الأعمال الأدبية. ويروم القاسمي من خلال إصداره الأخير، كتاب « النور والعتمة»، دراسة مفهوم الحرية بصورة عامة، وفي الأدب العربي بصورة خاصة.
