يتناول الكتاب حيث أن شبان \"الربيع العربي\" أتوا في زمن غير زمنهم، أو جاوؤا قبل زمنهم، في الخيال والحلم معا قوة الاحتجاج والرفض لديهم كانت تسعى إلى تدمير سيادة قيم الطغيان والاستبداد والعبودية، وبدلًا من إرادة هؤلاء الشبان في أن تستكشف الشعوب مناطق مجهولة من الحرية، أو تستعيد قسطًا مماضاع من حريتها التي كانت تعودت عليها، خرج إلى العلن دعاة ومحاربون يجهرون بإلزامية الامتثال إلى ماضٍ مجرد، لا تاريخي، تستولي عليه شراسة الانغلاق وعبودية الجهل، هكذا ظهروا وهم يحرقون الحرية. وفي لمح البصر علت مشاهد النقيض والأنقاض، واحتلت مظاهر العنف الساحات العمومية باسم الدين.
