يتضمن الكتاب تاريخا مسجلا وذكريات محفوظة عن ماضي هذه قبيلة الرولة ووقائعها، كما هو الحال لدى العشائر كلها، إذ تعد قبيلة الرولة من أقوى القبائل في الجزيرة العربية وخارجها، وهذا بشهادة العرب والأجانب، ويأتي الكتاب بطبعته الثانية التي اجتهد الباحث في تهذيبها وتصحيح الأخطاء، موليا هذه الطبعة عناية، حيث عمد إلى إضافة القسم الرابع من قبيلة الرولة وهي عشائر المحلف (الامحلف) الجلاسية الوائلية، والذين هم في عداد عشائر الرولة، كما أضاف بعض أيام الرولة الكبيرة.
