Overview
إن دراسة التاريخ السياسي لليمن قبل الإسلام بالتعرّف على ظروفه الداخلية وما جرى فيه من تغيرات وعلاقته بالمؤثرات الخارجية من خلال دراسة علاقات اليمن مع القوى القائمة آنذاك (بيزنطة، فارس، اكسوم) ودور القوى المحليّة اليمنيّة (الملوك، الاقيال واللذواء، القبائل) فضلا عن القوى المحليّة القائمة في مدينة نجران، وكان من الضروري بحث الحالة السياسية من خلال بحث الأطراف الحاكمة والقوى المؤثرة على مجريات الأحداث وهم الملوك ابتداء من فترة حكم ابكرب أسعد (أسعد كامل) الذي كان عصره يمثل أوج التطور السياسي في اليمن.
