هذا الكتاب دراسة لأحد أشهر علماء الصوفية وهو جلال الدين الرومي، والكتاب لا يكتفي بالحديث عن جلال الدين الرومي فقط، بل يتناول في بدايته تاريخ الصوفية وتطورها حتى عصر جلال الدين الرومي، ثم يبدأ في تناول سيرة جلال الدين وحياته ونشأته، ثم مؤلفاته وآثاره، ثم يفرد فصلا حول علاقته بالصوفية وآرائه الصوفية، وخصص أخر فصول الكتاب حول تأثر جلال الدين الرومي بعلم الكلام وأهم آرائه الفلسفية التي دعت البعض إلى تصنيفه ضمن علماء الكلام، وليس من علماء التصوف الإسلامي.
