يتناول هذا الكتاب موضوع \"العرب ودورهم الحضاري في شرق إفريقيا\" وخاصة في سلطنة كلوة هي الآن أو زنجبار قديما حيث يرصد هذا الكتاب الأحداث التاريخية للفترة العربية التي حكمت فيها أسرة عربية هذه السلطنة والتي تبدأ عندما تولى حكم هذه السلطنة أبو المواهب الحسن بن سليمان المهدلي وهم من الأشراف الحصارمة اليمانيين وكان لهذه الأسرة العربية دور كبيرا في نشر الإسلام في معظم الساحل الشرقي لإفريقيا بصفة عامة وسلطنة كلوة بصفة خاصة.
