The book explains, for example, the way Ireland's Guinness family shaped the skyline of Vancouver, how the T. Eaton Company elevated the experience of shopping, and the influence of federal, provincial and municipal politicians on the appearance of Canada's public-sector buildings. And the book reveals the rich history of some of the country's landmark sports and entertainment venues.
