يتناول الكتاب دراسة الكمبيالة كنموذج للأوراق التجارية وذلك ضمن دراسة شارحة للقانون التجاري الذي شمل إلى جانب أحكام الأوراق التجارية، أحكام : الإفلاس، العقود التجارية، عمليات البنوك. وبالنسبة لدراسة الكمبيالة كنموذج للأوراق التجارية اتبع المؤلفان في عرض أحكام قانون الصرف نفس خطة المشرع اللبناني فتكلما أولا بالتفصيل عن الكمبيالة، ثم عن غيرها من الأوراق التجارية، وفي الكلام عن الكمبيالة، اتبعا الخطة التقليدية في دراستها، فتكلما أولاً عن إنشائها، ثم عن تداولها، ثم عن ضمانات الوفاء بها، ثم عن انقضاء الالتزام الثابت بالكمبيالة إما بالوفاء في ميعاد الاستحقاق أو بالسقوط أو التقادم واخيرا عن أثر التعامل بالكمبيالة في الدين الأصلي.
