يتضمن الكتاب حياة السيد مصطفى جمال الدين بحوثه وأسرته وقسم الكتاب إلى أربعة فصول يتناول الفصل الأول محاولة جمال الدين في التجديد والإصلاح والتيسير النحوي. وقد استعرض الفصل الثاني السيد جمال الدين النحوي الأصولي شمل عدة محاور أولا التيسير النحوي والعلوم اللغوية، المنهج النحوي عقلي والنحو والعلوم التأثر والتأثير فيما ضم الفصل الثالث (رأيه بالقياس) وقد شمل النظام اللغوي للقرآن الكريم والنظام الدلالي والنظام النحوي ونظام العدول عن النظام النحوي وأخيرا جاء الفصل الرابع مصطفى جمال الدين أديبا وشاعرا فقد جمع بين أدبه وشعره قلة ما يجمع أحدا بينهما فقد جمع بين الأدب والخيال والذوق والعاطفة أما العلم يستند إلى العقل والاكتساب والمنطق والمعرفة.
