صدر حديثا عن مركز دراسات الشرق الأوسط / الأردن كتاب \"اتجاهات تطور العلاقات العربية-الصينية\" ضمن سلسلة دراسات مركزة رقم (8)، وهو في معظمه حصيلة ندوة وحلقتين نقاشيتين عقدها مركز دراسات الشرق الأوسط في الأردن خلال الأعوام الثلاثة الماضية 2017-2019 تناولت جوانب متعددة من العلاقات العربية-الصينية، وضمت مسؤولين صينيين وخبراء وسياسيين أردنيين. تمثل العلاقات العربية-الصينية عنصرا مهما في شبكة العلاقات الدولية. وترجع أهمية تلك العلاقات إلى ثلاثة عوامل رئيسية : أولها الصعود السلمي للصين بسرعة مذهلة منذ العام 1978، وثانيها اكتشاف النفط ثم الغاز في العالم العربي، وهو ما حول العالم العربي عامة ومنطقة الخليج العربي خاصة إلى محور رئيسي من محاور الطاقة العالمية والاقتصاد في العالم، بالإضافة إلى طرق المواصلات التي تربطها بمناطق أخرى، وثالثها : سعي العالم العربي للنهوض في ضوء كثير من التحديات السياسية والأمنية والاجتماعية التي تواجه نهوضه، وهي تحديات واجهتها الصين أيضا منذ صعودها، وما تزال تتعامل معها.
