أكد الباحث نجاح كبة أن عبد المجيد لطفي يعد من جيل الرواد الذي عانى كثيرا من شظف العيش فقد مر بأزمات اقتصادية وسياسية واجتماعية كانت تعصف بالعراق، لذا تحدثت قصصهم عن هذا الجانب فوصفوا الغرف المستأجرة والفقر والفاقة وما يدور في تلك الغرف من مشكلات تضمنتها نصوصهم على حساب الصياغة الفنية .. وأوضح : أن عبد المجيد لطفي تفاعل مع القضايا العربية برغم أنه كردي الجنسية، وقد تحدثت كتاباته عن القضية الفلسطينية ومشكلات العراق من دون أن يفرق، وكما يقول هو عن نفسه أنا كاتب عربي لكني كردي القومية.
