الرواية عمل أدبي يتم من خلاله إعادة صياغة العلاقات بين عناصر هذا الواقع بما يتيح للكاتب التعبير عن رؤيته لواقعه، وكلما كانت تلك الرؤية عميقة حاملة في طياتها لوعي الأديب كلما كانت أقدر على الكشف عن القوى المهيمنة في الواقع، وبالتالي اكتسب العمل الأدبي سمته المميزة، كما في روايات ليلى الأطرش، وهي الظاهرة التي ترصدها الأكاديمية الأردنية أسماء الزريقات في كتابها \"الرؤيا والتشكيل في أعمال ليلى الأطرش الروائية\" (دار فضاءات الأردنية) وهو في الأصل نص الأطروحة التي نالت بها الباحثة درجة الدكتوراه في النقد الأدبي من الجامعة الأردنية.
