يتناول كتاب الله تعالى جملة من العلوم التي أحاط بها العلماء وأكثروا بها الإمعان لتعينهم في استظهار الحقائق والكشف عن معاني القرآن العظيم للوصول إلى مراد الله تعالى في كتابه الكريم، وقد عنى المفسرون والأصوليون على حد سواء بهذه العلوم، وتوسلوا بها وظفوها في عملهم كلا على حده، ويرى بعض الباحثين أن لا تأثير لعلوم القرآن بعنوانها الخاص في عمل الأصولي ؛ فالأصولي لا يتعامل مع علوم القرآن، وإنما هو يتناول علم العام والخاص بعنوانه العام ويتناول المطلق والمقيد بعنوانه العام، وهكذا سائر المسميات التي تشبه علوم القرآن.
