Overview
يختص الباب الأول من الكتاب ببيئة الزمن الرابع، ويقع في فصلين، يعالج الأول منهما تغيرات المناخ في البليستوسين في نطاق العروض العليا ونطاق العروض الوسطى، ثم البحث في أهم أسباب التغيرات المناخية، ويدرس الفصل الثاني النتائج المترتبة على التغيرات المناخية والتي تنتظم تغيرات فيزيوجرافية وأخرى حيوية وأثر كل هذه التغيرات في الإنسان وتأتي دراسة الباب الثاني عن التطور الحضاري، وينتظم في خمسة فصول، من الثالث حتى السابع، وخصصت للمراحل الحضارية المختلفة الفصول من الثالث إلى السادس، ومن الطبيعي أن يضع الإنسان بصماته على البيئة خلال هذه المراحل الحضارية وعن تأثير الإنسان في البيئة أفرد له المؤلف دراسة اختص بها الفصل السابع كما حرص المؤلف على تزويد الكتاب بعدد من الرسومات والخرائط والأشكال البيانية حتى يسهل فهم المتن أثناء القراءة.
