في اللغة الإنجليزية ستة وعشرون حرفا، منها خمسة حروف تقابل حروف العلة الثلاثة والحركات في اللغة العربية، فلا يمكن لفظ كلمة إنجليزية بدونها، وحرف واحد هو نصف معتل، فيبقى عشرون حرفا صحيحا. ان الكامل في اللغة الإنجليزية بأسلوب المتدرج من الأبسط ثم الأصعب، فأصعب هو الأمثل إذا يأخذ بنظر الاعتبار استعدادات المتعلمين وقدراتهم غير المتساوية. حيث يقدم لهم دروسا أولية في حروف الهجاء في اللغة الإنجليزية ويبين لهم الفرق بين الحروف من حيث كتابتها. مستعرضا معهم أدوات التعريف والنكرة والاسم والضمائر والفعل، وأنواعه قبل أن يبسط أمامهم المفردات الشائعة الاستخدام.
