تناول الكتاب مواضيع حيث تحدث عن القضية التي آثارها الدكتور يوسف عن الإسراء والمعراج والتي أثارت جدلا شديدا علي مدار تقريبا 80 صفحة استفاض الدكتور بالحديث عن هذا الموضوع مع التطرق لتاريخ هذة المنطقة وكيف أخذت هذه المكانة في الديانات الثلاثة مع عرض وجهة نظرة في قضية الإسراء التي قد تكون وقعت بين مكة وفلسطين أو بين مسجدين بين الطائف ومكة أو قد يكون الإسراء قد حدث لسيدنا موسي وليس سيدنا محمد وقد أتى الدكتور ببعض الاستنتاجات أيضا التي تدحض قصة المعراج التي علي حسب ما كتب الدكتور لم يأت ذكرها في القرأن وأن عبد الملك بن مروان هو الذي اختلق قصة القدس لشغل المسلمين بقصة أخري تلهيهم عن قصفة للكعبة أثناء احتماء صحابة النبي بها تناول ايضا التراث العربي وتطرق فية الدكتور للمشاكل التي تواجه محققي التراث.
