إن ثورة الفلاحين في كسروان عام 1859 طمست معالمها وأطاحت جزءا كبيرا من منجزاتها ونتائجها الأحداث الطائفية الخطيرة والدامية التي شهدها جبل لبنان في العام التالي. وبعد أكثر من مئة وخمسين سنة، وفي خضم التحولات الكبيرة في العالم العربي، أتى الروائي الفرانكوفوني رمزي سلامة، أحد أحفدة \"الثائرين\"، لينفض الغبار ويسترجع الأحداث، ويعيد استقراءها، ويعطيها بعضا من حقها على مستوى إعادة الاعتبار للمعطى التحرري الذي أتت به، بعدما استعاد هؤلاء الثوار، بجرأتهم وكسرهم للأعراف السائدة مدة قرون، حقوقهم وكرامتهم، بثورة لم يعرف لها الشرق العربي مثيلا.
