سفارة نامة فرنسا، أو كتاب السفارة إلى فرنسا، هو أول نص يكتبه عثماني عن رحلته إلى باريس في مهمة رسمية عام (1720 م) سلم خلالها رسائل السلطان العثماني والوزير (الصدر الأعظم) إلى ملك فرنسا وكبار رجال الدولة، وأتيح له خلال العمرانية والعلمية والصناعية، وإن يتعرف على نمط الحياة في عاصمة أوروبية. وتكمن أهمية هذا النص في تعبيره عن روح الانفتاح التى عرفتها استامبول في بداية القرن الثامن عشر والرغبة في التعرف إلى مظاهر الحياة الفرنسية، والأثر الذى أحدثه لدى الطبقة الحاكمة في تلك الآونة.
