صدر عن دار النشر (الشهاب) كتاب بعنوان (صور ووجوه في قلب معركة تلمسان) يحمل رسوما للفنان دنيس مارتنيز ويحتوي على سيناريو لأحمد بجاوي كتبه في نهاية الستينيات، وكذا شهادة لرجلين حول الهيجان الثقافي للسنوات الأولى للاستقلال، ويفتتح الكتاب على حوار بين الفنان الرسام والناقد السينمائي حول مشروع فيلم مشترك لم يتجسد بسبب نقص الوسائل، واقتبس هذا الفيلم الذي صور جزء منه سنة 1968 في تلمسان، من عملية هجوم سنة 1956 ضد نادي ضباط الجيش الاستعماري نفذها جنود من جيش التحرير الوطني تنكروا في زي عناصر دورية فرنسية في وقت الإفطار وبمساعدة سكان المدينة.
