هذا المجلد الكبير الذى يحتوى خمسة كتب، أحدها كتاب جديد، والأربعة الأخرى يعاد طبعها، قد رئى المؤلف أن تكون طبعتها الجديدة فى مجلد واحد بعد أن صدرت طبعاتها السابقة فى سنوات متفرقة، وتناوت محتويات المجلد عرض للخمس كتب فجاء الحديث عن الكتاب الأول والذي جاء بعنوان : الغناء المصري، الكتاب الثاني جاء بعنوان أصوات وألحان عربية، الكتاب الثالث جاء بعنوان : مطربون ومستمعون، والكتاب الرابع بعنوان سحر الغناء العربي، وأخيرا الكتاب الخامس الذي جاء بعنوان الموجه الجديدة وما بعد الثمنينات.
