في مزج بين الفنون والعلوم والتاريخ .. يأتي هذا الكتاب ليمزج بين الموسيقى وآلاتها كعلم وفن وتاريخ فهو كتاب لا يقدم للمتخصصين سواء في تأليف الموسيقى أو العزف فقط وإنما يمتد ليشمل معهما المشتغلين في العزف وقيادة الفرق وحتى الهواة فهو يقدم نموذجا تفضيليا يجمع بين الآلات الشرقية والغربية قدميها وحديثها ليتحدث عن أنواع وأشكال وتاريخ كل منها على حدة .. كذلك نجده يحدثنا في أسباب تسمية الآلات بأسمائها، أيضا لا يقتصر الكتاب على الآلات فيها على اختلاف أنواعها وأدوارها ثم يتناول بعد ذلك دور قائد الفرقة أو ما يسمى (المايسترو) وكذلك الصوت الانساني في مختلف المراحل العمرية .. وأخيرا يتناول أهم الآلات والفرق العربية خاتما كتابه بملحق صور لما سبق ذكره في الكتاب.
